Anyone who has a strong interest in video games can say exactly where they were on 19 November 2006. If you are a serious player most likely to be camped overnight in front of the store Toys R Us located in Times Square, New York, in an effort to be first out the door when they opened early in the morning. That was the day in Nintendo Wii was launched and the race to get one started officially. It was a great event that was highlighted by such things as a Segway scooter that held a roving commission to the Wii console. People could play Wii games wirelessly while waiting in line that stretched around the building.
From that day Wii demand has been greater than supply. In fact, if you want to buy a console at the moment it's likely your favorite store, the mall exit electronics or the Internet can be sold outside of this product.
The publicity led to the release of Nintendo Wii was unanimously positive. This console is the fifth released by Nintendo and is the successor to the popular GameCube console. Serious players had followed the story of the beginning, when first Nintendo Wii released in the 2005 event E3. He won the first of many awards in the showing and touching the ground running. From that day on the huge number of people who play video games worldwide could not wait to get their hands on one of these revolutionary consoles.
Nintendo Wii has outsold Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP since launch few months ago. The demand for this product is now through the roof. People of all ages are playing in these units and the interest is growing larger every day.
Wii is the number one selling game consoles, in part because of its price, $ 250, which is 2 to 4 hundred dollars less than its competitors. The main reason people go bananas over this console though is because its new features, like leaving WiiConnect24, which allows the console to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode. But mostly it is the remote control.
What sets Nintendo Wii, apart of other game consoles like Playstation 3, PSP or Xbox 360 is its wireless remote, called the Wii Remote. This is a revolutionary device that offers interactivity in a whole new level. This remote has a motion sensor that allows the user to rise from his seat and kicks, swing, jump and dance their way through games Wii. No more endless hours of sitting. Players can now really feel that they are physically in the game while playing their video games.
As that the frenzy to buy Nintendo Wii consoles has steadily increased shopping and online retail stores have had difficulty keeping their shelves stocked with this new hot product. Many people have accused Nintendo purpose of the celebration in the amount of Wii consoles for sale to create a large demand for the product. These criticisms go beyond saying that Nintendo's plan over the release was a lot of these consoles in the fourth quarter of the year to a public company can not wait to get their hands on one, because the product is so good, however, relatively rare.
This week Nintendo announced it would ramp production of Wii consoles. This means there should be plenty of them available for sale during the fourth quarter of this fiscal year. On the surface it appears that the theory conspiracy people were right about the production of retention of Nintendo to create artificial demand. However, there is no way to be sure if it is true unless there is a secret tape recording of Nintendo's top executives sitting in a board meeting as they trace their diabolical plan.
The big question here is whether or not the drought will end soon for video game enthusiasts who thirst for a drink of the new Nintendo Wii console. While no amount Nintendo was given about how many more consoles that occur, most people believe that the message general corporate PR is sending to the public is that it'll have trouble finding a Nintendo Wii for sale in your store or favorite online now.
