Millions of video game lovers, many of whom were devoted to the widely popular Sims video games, waited anxiously for Electronic Arts newest video game release called Spore. Electronics Arts did not disappoint it's many fans as the $49.99 regular version of Spore, the $9.99 Spore Creature Creator and the $79.99 Galactic version of Spore were released without a hitch and were quickly snatched off the retail stores shelves. Although Spore's sales didn't quite match the volume of sales of video game monoliths Guitar Hero III or Grand Theft Auto IV, it did very well. It is usually about a week after a video game release when the people who bought the game begin flooding the Internet with either their personal praise or damnation of the video game. They talk about things like game play, graphics speed and resolution, end game, online play, character building etc. Not this time! With Spore, the talk was all about its DRM!

What is DRM? The copyright protection called DRM is an acronym for Digital Rights Management, a term used to describe the different techniques for restricting the free use and transfer of digital content. DRM is used in a number of media, but is found most often in music and video files. Many of people believe that DRM should stand for Digital Restrictions Manager being that it manages users restrictions while taking away their rights. Companies like Apple began using DRM under the auspices of fighting piracy. Has it worked? You tell me. After the news of the type of severe DRM Electronics Arts put on Spore spread to future buyers, it took only days for over 500,000 illegal copies of the Spore video game (without DRM) to be downloaded from P2P BitTorrent sites on the Internet. Does DRM work? No! It ticks people off. If you don't believe it, ask Amazon.com, where thousands of people unhappy with Spore's DRM restrictions gave the new video game a lowly one star rating. Thanks to DRM, Spore has become the most pirated game ever.

So, what was so bad about Spore's DRM to get so many people in an uproar? Here is what it is all about and I am going to tell you from first hand experience because I purchased the $79.99 Galactic version of Spore and after one more download, the game will be worthless. Because my video card was not set perfectly to run Spore, I received a warning message after the first installation that I needed to change my video card settings and reinstall Spore again or the game would not work. One installation used. I did what was required and reinstalled Spore again. No error messages this time, the game works wonderfully. Two installations used. So why am I counting installations? You see, with Spore's DRM restrictions, the purchaser can only install the game three times. After the third installation, your bought and paid for game of Spore will be nothing but a worthless piece of plastic. You can play it, but you will never be able to install it again. So you pray nothing goes wrong with your computer because you won't be able to install Spore to a new one. If I would have known about Electronic Arts DRM restrictions for Spore, I never would have purchased it and I may have gone as far as joining the other 500,000 so-called pirates visiting a free game downloads site to download a DRM-less version.

Some folks say that a company should be allowed to protect their copyrighted products, and I agree as long as they don't take the rights away from the new owners, the people who have purchased those copyrighted products. I want to first say that I don't necessarily hate the idea of copyright protection but I do hate the way DRM is being abused by the companies. When a person buys a copyrighted product, the copyright should now belong to the new owner along with the product. As far as I am concerned, when I purchase something it should be mine to do with as I please. As long as it does not involve harming, torturing or killing a living creature, I should have complete and total rights to do what I want with that product. Here are some examples of what I mean. If I were to purchase a German Shepherd dog ($800), it is mine. If I want to either sell or give my dog away to someone else, I have every right to do so. If I buy a car ($25,000) and a week later feel like selling it or giving it away, I can because I have the every right to do so. If I were to buy a house ($200,000) outright for cash (I wish), that house would be completely mine to sell or even give it away if I choose. If I have complete and total rights to do what I want with my dog, my car and my house, will somebody please tell me why can I face criminal charges and punishment for doing what I want with my $79.99 game of Spore or any other video game for that matter. Heck, with EA's new DRM restrictions imposed on my Spore video game, I can't even install it more than three times. In truth, Spore still belongs to Electronic Arts even though I forked out my hard earned cash for the rights of ownership. Therein lies the true crime my friends. And the video game industry is wondering why more and more normally honest folks have turned to pirating.

Sadly, video game companies like Electronic Arts are unwittingly causing the downfall of the video game industry with their abuse of DRM restrictions. Piracy paranoia has already taken a huge bite out of the PC and Mac game industry. Remember when stores like Egghead and Electronics Boutique used to be stocked wall to wall with computer games for your PC or Mac. Then they come up with all of these unjust anti-piracy rules that if you open the games packaging there will be no exchanges or refunds allowed. Are you kidding me. With all of the different computer configurations out there due to lack of standards within the industry, you were lucky not to run into a conflict when installing or playing the game. How many of you remember buying a $50 computer game only to have it not work when you installed it. Remember how you felt when you tried to get your money back for a $50 game that you never even got to play only to be told by the suspicious salesman at the stores counter, Too Bad, No Refund, No Exchange Policy Here! A lot of people remember. That is the main reason good honest folk turned to P2P download sites for their computer games in the first place. No risk of losing their money through no fault of their own. Thus began the downfall of the video game industry for PC's and Mac's. Now when you go into a store looking to purchase a game for your PC, all you will find is a little rack of about fifteen computer games tucked away somewhere in the back of a video game store.

Don't look now, but the video game industry is following that same path of self destruction as before, and the DRM restrictions they are putting on games like Spore will be their undoing. If the fact that the Spore DRM policy has caused it to become the most pirated video game in history does not bring about changes in copyright policies, then they will be in deep trouble as an industry. I realize I am ranting but I tend to get ticked off when I am being ripped off and I am not alone here. Head over to CNet or Amazon.com to see what people are saying about the Spore DRM policy. The video game makers had better listen too, because they are on the path of causing their own demise with such a draconic DRM policy. Electronic Arts, the maker of Spore especially had better open up its ears, because over 500,000 people downloading DRM free versions of the video game from Free Game Downloads sites in only a few days makes a thunderous sound. The release of Spore was supposed to be a happy day for all. Instead, EA's punishing DRM policy may have begun the downfall of the video game industry, and that would be a sad day for everyone.

Our 2009 year had already started and most of us had hopefully a January month with a so long, good-bye and a good what is coming next in schedule. In a quick and precise review: we had a new president that makes history for good. Many of you have already written your new year resolutions and started achieving the goals required to meet the destiny you ultimately want to be.

Shane Mosley hits an incredible boxing TKO upset, that is surely good positive news if you are part of the US, and we have February coming in racing speed! Are you surprisingly shocked and in complete awe restating to yourself how fast the month already has passed? If you have honestly answered yes to such point, you did not accomplish many or all your goals that you initially proposed on a daily basis. That is outright simple.

But good, great or magnificent news being for you are that if you want to adjust and improve there surely room for another try in month of February if this happens to be your case.

If you forgot to write your goals for at least one day of the entire month, you probably had a pretty good mind relapse on how fast our 2009 year was also already for your life. If this is so, you have room for improvement. Re-evaluate your commitment to your goals, adjust if you need to in order to accomplish what you had initially planned and set yourself for and gather your new results by either winning or gather new experiences.

We all have room for fast paced improvements. Whether we have our wholesale store on video games, electronics, hammocks, DVDs, musical instruments or whatever it is that you are currently offering, make sure to execute to either gain new experience or accomplish the in-deadline goals. This month of January 2009 was probably your best year ever, could had already been one of your best ones, a good one or your worst one.

Whatever the answer is, it does not count anymore. February is the new rule of business as January is very likely long gone by the time you get to read this article. And that is good news!

If you achieved your month of January goals before deadline, congrats! Keep it up. If you had difficulties, delays or just could not finish: ask yourself the same questions you asked to yourself when your past year ending was celebrated. Hopefully there were questions similar to; what did I accomplish and what did I not?

Why did I not accomplish and what can I do to improve it? How am I going to accomplish this new set of goals for the month of February and what do I need to do in order to accomplish my goals to get closer to the ultimate long term dream? If you probably laughing about the ultimate dream reminder, clearly, as an old time top gun maverick entertainment would sing: you have lost that love and feeling, woe that love and feeling, but now is gone, gone, gone- ah, ah, ah?

If this happens to be you right now, you probably are stuck in a dead-end job, not entirely happy or probably lost without higher senses of purpose. Either be it any of them, or the countless of other possibilities on why you did not accomplish your goals on January 2009, the consequences will back fire at you in the short term and potentially in the overall effects of the long term results.

But the ending facts being, you still have a choice to either start a new business, improve current ones or do nothing at all. You will dictate how successful your personal life and your career are for you.

No matter what your life ultimate achievement may be, the choices for change are available. How is February going to look for you? Start deciding. Surely January was surely a fine one indeed for many of us, but if it was not for you, make sure to think about what is February going to be for me like. Kind of simple, you might get addicted once you get the hang of it!

Sometimes video games get bad press. It's true you can overuse them, but if you play them judiciously you can learn a few things:

1. You succeed if you have a plan. You can't get past a room of aliens or enemy soldiers shooting at you if you don't look at the situation and work out a strategy of victory for that particular scenario. It may not come in an instant but as you study the situation the path of success will become clear.

2. You can't be a "hero". You can't rush out guns blazing like the movies because you're going to get cut down right away and you'll be dead. You have to economize your ammunition, you can't waste a shot. You have to let the enemy come to you, where you are at the advantage. It will take some time, but you win not by your guns but by your wits and ability to remain calm.

3. You have to press forward vigorously. At the same time standing still will allow your enemies to surround and overwhelm you. It keeps them from organizing and forces them into a reactive mode. Dominance in the field is as much an attitude as it is a physical position. You don't move laterally (from side to side) but advance by vectors forward, and never without a safe landing place.

4. You don't show your enemies your backside. You just can't turn and run in the face of a difficult situation, you make your backside one big target and you will pay the price. Retreat is sometimes inevitable, so you have to have your escape route planned out as well.

5. You have to try and try and try and try again. It may take you 20 or 30 times before before you can get past that level of the game without "dying". There is a reset, yes; and some people say that is a bad thing ("If I die, no problem, I'll just start again"); but you do get a second chance and it allows you eventually win.

6. Failure is not failure; it is a process of elimination of different ways to attack a certain problem. As I said above: there is a reset, yes. However, failure is a better teacher than success, but you must never give up. Least of all you must never give up hope about yourself and your ability to manage through any situation. You have the ability to surmount any problem.

7. At times all hope may seem lost, you have no ammunition, your life points are at near-death levels, and the enemy may be swarming. If you accept your demise at that point it most surely will come. If you bide your time however; energy, ammunition, and opportunity will present itself and you'll be in fit form soon again. You are a winner.

8. Objectives are never attained in one sweeping move. You get to your goal by bits and pieces, one manageable chunk at a time. You take it one move at a time, you just focus on that and as you persevere on eventually you are taken to your end goal.

The game never ends. There is always a continuation. The names may change but the enemy remains the same. The story moves to another planet, another location; and you through it slowly evolve and improve.

This movie to video game adaptation is done very well. It is a mmorpg (massively multiplayer online role playing game) that has a unique combat system where you attack directionally instead of click and lock on like most mmos. You perform combo by hitting the directional attack buttons in sequence. This can lead to cool fatalities and more damage.

It is set in the Robert E. Howard universe which has its own races and cultures besides that of Conan's Cimmeria. You can choose to start in Cimmeria; a barbaric cold world. Stygia; an Egyptian like world with Pyramids and snake worshipers. There is also Aquilonia which is like an advanced society like the Romans or Byzantium.

There are many guilds in the game some with over 300 people others with 50-60 people. They are going to add Guild Alliances and Alliance Battle Keeps. There are plenty of servers to choose from as well. They have PvE (player vs environment) or PVP servers or culture PvP where you fight different race classes.

The leveling system goes as such; from 1-20 you play in Tortage a pirate island so you can learn the game and system. Then from 20-80 you essentially play in the full world and can engage in PvP anywhere outside of cities. There are some solo instances(zones) where you can only fight by yourself against monsters. There are also raid instances where you need large groups to defeat epic monsters. Sometime you need from 6-12 players depending on the instance. These zones will yield better loot such as swords or armor with better stats.

The game's initial release had so much hype that it had trouble living up to it in the first few months. Now, they have PVP (player versus player) experience and have fixed a lot of the errors and bugs that occurred in the early months. They have ironed out almost all of the bug and game play problems. They have smoothed over some of the class differences as well. There may still be a gap between some classes, but each one is needed to fill out a good team.

You can siege other player made Battle Keeps or fight in other PVP skirmishes and mini games. There are catapults and War Mammoths that can take down the enemies walls. You can defend you keep with Archers and guards from inside and out. The graphics are very good so make sure you have the latest requirements before buying the game. I give it a 9/10.

Looking to start a profitable business, and making it profitable online fast can be a challenge. If it's anything relating to wholesale -especially, wholesale video games and other general electronics, it can be a rough mountain to climb for profits in its entirety. However, still achievable depending on your experience!

If you think you don't have time for building your own website, your own web store, and yet want to start as quickly and efficiently as possible for profit and on-going revenue success you do have numerous alternatives. Among your options are the most traffic sites on the internet, these are websites that have been established for years and running successfully for extended times. Google, Yahoo and MSN are obvious choices, but clearly they are not the best options if you don't own your own website commercial business mall.

Without a website, you're not getting indexed or listed in popular directories for traffic. Without traffic, no matter how professional and capital invested in your website overall system, everyone would be a seating duck with clueless entries in unforeseen rivers. So, where do you immediately go if you want an acceptable short-cut of traffic that can manage to make you reasonable profits in times like this? You go where the traffic and money is flowing if you yet don't have your own site!

Where exactly? If you want to offer and successfully sell wholesale video games, you go to eBay and other high traffic auction sites that already have thousands, if not millions of visitors a day for millions of searched keywords. Not only does it work if you make irresistible offers, it should put money on the bank.

However, the reality for the average small business start-up and for many other people wanting to start a business is the reluctant feeling to short-cut. That is usually good if thinking long term traffic strategies. However, when you deeply analyze the short term traffic purposes and outcomes, fast strategy for fast resale profits and a quick plan for right now moments usually alleviates a problem - it seldom cures it.

In personal opinion, long term plans and strategies are just the best irresistible money making venture you can plan for revenue success. That is, whether it ends up being in an up-hill battle for eBay glory or for the never ending interesting, yet competitive plans for beating and outsmarting your competitors on search engines.

Knowing that short-cuts are not the best possible answer for long term revenue success for your business; do consider greatly getting along with eBay resale opportunities, however, make sure to start building your very first asset with your own e-commerce store, with your own private domain name and with your own company name! There are times since 2006 that eBay has had more searches in their website, than Google actually has received in a given day.

Fact being, that's because one third of North American with internet connection hit searches on per hour and per minute basis than at times most people do with Google and other search engines.

So in short and quick in-a-nutshell answers; if you want short-cuts you assure yourself of getting the best sources for resale, both domestically and internationally to bring quick profits for the items that you're planning to sell. Do know or remember that getting the lowest price will always be a challenge; it would often be your overall irresistible auction that can beat any power seller on auctions site even if you think you can't sell at the prices a power seller is actually selling on auction sites.

These are other interesting facts to keep diligently looking for when it comes to resale and wholesale profits. Whether it ends up being a list of items in the wholesale video games market, general electronics or other market, make an assessment and decide whether short-cuts or long term planning will bring the best pleasure for you and yours. If you already have the answer, you most likely are ready for even more answers!

The PlayStation 2 is Sony's second video game console, the successor to the PlayStation and the predecessor to the PlayStation 3. Its development was announced in March 1999, and it was first released in Japan on March 4, 2000, in North America on October 26, 2000 and in Europe on November 24, 2000.

The PS2 is part of the sixth generation era, and has become the fastest selling and arguably the most dominant home console of video game history, with over 115 million units shipped worldwide by December 2006.

Only a few million people had obtained consoles by the end of 2000 due to manufacturing delays. The PlayStation 2 was so popular after its release that it was difficult to find units on retailer shelves. Another popular option was purchasing the console online through auction websites.

Many analysts predicted a close 3-way matchup between the PS2 and competitors Microsoft's Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube (which was the cheapest of the three consoles and had an open market of games). However, the release of several blockbuster games during the 2001 holiday season pushed the PS2 in order to maintain momentum and hold off its rivals.

Games

The brand strength has led to strong third-party support for the system. Although the launch titles for the Playstation2 were unimpressive in 2000, the Christmas season of 2001 saw the release of several best-selling and critically acclaimed games. These games helped the PS2 maintain and extend its lead in the video game console market, despite increased competition from the launches of the Microsoft Xbox and GameCube. In several cases, Sony made exclusivity deals with publishers in order to pre-empt its competitors.

The onset of video game addiction is insidious. It creeps up and grabs hold of the victim before they may even recognize the symptoms. Symptoms include: agitation, anxiety, loss of friends, loss of alternative activities, diminished self-care and limited attendance to everyday responsibilities.

With the advent of modern technology and the availability of the Internet, children, youth and young adults are the first generation raised on a diet of electric media where alternate realities run like water. Therein gamers not only find virtual friends, stories and plot lines, but real sentient beings; other gamers with whom to collaborate in an on-line maze of intrigue, death, destruction and counter culture activities.

Together, real gamers come to rely on each other in a virtual world as they encounter situations designed to form group cohesion and mutual dependency. Particularly enticing to many are games of war and destruction. Here, the death of a colleague translates into really losing that player. The player is off-line. Death is dreaded because you go from insider to nothing… in a heartbeat.

Like being picked last when choosing teams for a game of pick-up basketball or football, no one wants to be in that despised position and certainly no one wants to die first. The game is on and the players develop a sense of loyalty to each other in order to survive and thus they are hooked.

These are often games without end and so to leave the game is tantamount to letting down the team, breaking the chain and undermining the participation of everyone involved. You will be responsible for he death of your collaborators. A group consciousness develops and no player wants to be blamed for letting the others down or in this reality, killing them off. The gamer letting down the team is a pariah, a traitor, someone to avoid in future games. The gamer who lets down the team is someone to be shunned. The one who blinks first by going to dinner or doing homework becomes the one to be avoided by this group. You lose real friends, social connections and your on-line identity. Concurrent to the game, gamers relate to each other; they discuss everything from strategy to how to keep real life from intruding on their play. They support each other’s dependency and participation.

As the grip of the group development and co-dependence strengthens; grades, sleep, friends and self-care slip away.

As a society we prize loyalty, determination and honour. These qualities are perverted to hook players deeper. The uninitiated just doesn’t understand. These virtues hold gamers hostage to the play.

From the outside, as parents, family or friends attempt to withdraw the gamer from on-line life to the activities and demands of everyday life, the gamer resists, feeling increasingly anxious in view of the tugs and pulls away from the game. Conflict ensues between the gamer and loved ones. Attendance to non-gaming life deteriorates. The gamer looks more and more like a crack addict.

Parents and loved ones are well advised to seek professional help and intervention in view of the above scenario. The gamer is hooked to gaming with a ferociousness as seen in any other kind of behavioural addiction. Withdrawal will be a hard fought endeavour and supports will have to be in place to manage anxiety, depression and threats of harm to self or others. For help, speak with your family physician, local community counselling agency or addiction services provider.

Yes! You can find wholesale video games distributors by just hitting a search on google and typing certain keywords. With just 5 minutes of online experience anyone can practically get to this point and make get what pretty much looks like a distributor sor wholesaler. But not many people can locate the right wholesale trade information in order to resale for adequate mark-up standards.

The reason of it. Many of the wholesale sources being advertised on general wholesale list trading sites are middleman sites. Which means, more frustrated students on wholesale walking out with a lame distributor or supplier that can only make him or she a 10-20% average profit margin from the moment they purchase.

So what are the easiest and correct ways to get wholesale distributors, suppliers and wholesalers for merchandise that you can resale for big profits? The old tradition of small business success still prevails as a success. You buy low and you sell at a higher price. How can you make sure the distributors that you'll contact are the real deal?

If they don't show you the prices at first glance, chances are you got at least a good wholesale source at just a click of a mouse. The majority of the distributors and suppliers who don't show-up their prices are in the majority of the cases legitímate. While this doesn't suggest anyone not showing their prices immediatly isn't legitimate wholesaler, when seeing prices with ease, just proceed with even more caution and check for company success from other members at their site.

Other than looking for wholesale video games distributors with regular keywords. submit specific searches for what you're actually after. For example, if you're looking for for video games accessories, try doing a more relevant search and spend a couple of hours if you've the time by becoming more targeted. An easy way to perform such search is by using long-tail keyword phrases.

Obvious enough, but most people that I know while checking how some of my closest friends research for what they want, type short word phrases in the majority and some justo ut of laziness. If you put such example of video games accessories, try searching for wholesale video games merchandise distributors of accessories for PS3.

That's a long keyword targeted at a very warm, specific target. Most likely, with such example you could get better results if you were to invest your time solely with yourself, without help and only with your time. While this is surely a way to start searching for in the cheapest form available, you should know that you'd need to test these types of distributors, suppliers and wholesalers at some time. It does take time, but depending your way of work you can invest such giant amount of times without spending a dime - but do prepare to work a lot more.

The exciting part of selling is when you buy the product and combine it with other products of low-cost that are perceived as worth-while purchases. A recent example I gave to a client was with his celular resale on eBay.

You need to know where to get good old time cell-phones if you're going to offer limited editions or discontinued like he was doing, but others where just doing the same. By adding just a signal strenght booster that goes in the battery area and added as a bonus, from a competitor standpoint he had an advantage at leas ton eBay. There are a lot more examples, but you should get the point.

The more added value you can get out of a distributor or discount supplier, the better it should be for your bottom-line! Keep the work on, non-stop. There's a lot more to learn when it comes to wholesale, just make sure to keep adding that dilligence until you get what you want out of sourcing for wholesalers, distributors and suppliers.

Should the wholesale video games industry stay afloat or thrive even more for our upcoming year? Could it be suitable for wholesale and retail outlets offer a major product line with its services focusing more on video games? Can it be profitable for small home based businesses become highly successful selling the wildly successful wholesale xbox 360 for our new upcoming and exciting 365 days?

2007 year should be an interest year for gaming giants like Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. With Sony launching its new PS3 console in mid November to battle the world leader in modern consoles Microsoft, it is evident that Microsoft should be hardening their strategic marketing across all major manufacturing and distribution channel to exit as many units as possible for our new upcoming year.

This to our advantage meaning that being partially part or fully involved in the sell of wholesale video games for our 2007 year should become a profitable one if marketed and focused right. Getting the latest gaming accessories and the newest supply of brand new units for wholesale xbox 360 and for Sony PS3 could make the difference between profiting $1,000s in a single day and a few hundreds in a 24hr period.

Today and further on 2007 the supply of Sony newest unit the PS3 will keep incredibly limited, thus causing a positive inflation in profits for the seller and a wide heftier expense on the consumer no matter where you buy. The savings and profits will always be similar when it comes to PS3, unless you got units for free as a giveaway. However, the winnings in today PS3 offering are remarkable and getting into such a business is advisable by people that are in the business.

While supplies will keep being launched to all across the world with the PS3, Microsoft will be in a bidding war with consumers deciding what will be a better purchase for their loved ones. That is the work many of us as a small company should understand and keep in mind. The gaming industry should be doing sales record once again for general gaming products.

Best part of it is that most of us that consider having an average entrepreneurial mindset can start a wholesale business today and be offering items online in few hours from starting. Expect more addiction and more sales record in the sell of wholesale video games and in the retail gaming division that surrounds PS3, Nintendo Wii and Wholesale Xbox 360 for sure.

Throughout time man has invented, innovated, and dreamt big to lead us to our present day world. Is the wheel the greatest invention, or the cell phone, or perhaps modern medicine? No. Video Games are man’s greatest invention…easily.

Why can something so trivial be as of importance and even greater than the wheel or even the smallpox vaccine? The answer is a simple one but you must open your mind; video games are responsible for creating more imaginative minds than any wheel or cell phone have ever created. Modern technologies have allowed dreamers to create their own 3d worlds, universes if you will, that are beginning to rival the size of our own Planet. If God is thought to have the biggest imagination of all, clearly he gave us the ability to think big, but we lacked the tools until recently.

Early man showed signs of artistic thought and thinking outside the box with pictures telling great stories on the sides of ancient cave walls; would we have known about their artistic side if the cave or material they wrote with didn’t exist? Of course not, just like we wouldn’t know Mozart was a great piano player, or Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever if the piano or basketball were not created. It is the inventions that allow people the most freedom to express themselves; who they are, what they think, and what they dream about. Never in the history of man has a tool allowed one to express themselves so emphatically other than Video games.

In a world where we are limited to 100 years or less, video games allow people to explore vast universes, join hunting parties, make friendships, establish enemies, engage in combat, lose battles, gain great victories, and still live to fight another day. It is the greatest teacher of all that encourages trial and error, and thinking outside the box. Has a wheel ever inspired a kid to dream of another universe, or find out if he/she is a relentless explorer, an achiever, a socialite, or perhaps even a great guild leader?

It is easy to look at a game and judge it at face value, as just a fun toy to play with, while looking at the wheel as the greatest architectural advancement in the modern world. I simply ask what’s more important: To understand architecture and the intricacies of the wheel and shapes or to be able to question the very thing discovered and simulate your own virtual empire with all different shapes and sizes.

Imagine if our ancestors had the ability to play Eve Online two-thousand years ago. They would be so excited about space travel and the virtual space they played in, they would probably have dreamt up a better space shuttle than we currently use. Only a handful of people dream about actually entering space, and this is why Nasa isn’t advancing as fast as it could. What if every child in America was exposed to mock simulations of space travel, space exploration, in a 3d environment that would rival real life? The outcome would be a society hell-bent on traveling outside our solar system. Those children would grow into adults, adult explorers, leading the way to exploration all because of a spark, a seed, of imagination implanted in their psyche since they discovered their virtual space.

Is it any wonder why our society craves violence and misery as we are exposed to it constantly as children? We seek out in our adult life what we know to be true as children. Thankfully video games are here to save our minds from “reality” and allow us once again to think of possibilities and a world where boundaries become laughable and society becomes free willed.

So log onto World Of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Ultima Online, Shadowbane, DAoC, Tabula Rasa, or perhaps Eve Online, without feeling guilty for expressing your inner self. The wheel’s time to shine has come and passed…it is now merely a tool under my chair to wheel me closer to my magical box that lets me think ever so freely.

It's a phrase which has been introduced to us through film and television, but which now has many links to the type of computer or video game which we can buy in the shops and run on our own humble computer systems. So what exactly is CGI, what does it stand for, and what does it mean?

The letters CGI stand for Computer Generated Imagery, and refers to any visual image, whether static or moving, that has been either completely created by a computer system, or at least partly created or embellished by computers. CGI has been one of the most significant markers used to identify the developments in technology, the advances in the hardware, and the developments in software systems and those who use them.

When the idea of using images that have been created on a computer was first introduced to us in television and film, it was fairly obvious which bits were real, and which bits had been added in or replaced using a computer. Sometimes reality and the computer images were combined in a single picture, but more usually they were quite separate. However, as technology has advanced so far and achieved so much in recent years, the use of CGI has massively increased the quality of image that is seen by the viewer, to the point where today it is very difficult, and often impossible, for anyone but the experts to be able to distinguish between what is real, and what is not.

For film and television companies it is often the case that either certain shots or images can only be generated on a computer, simply because they don't exist in reality - such as living, breathing dinosaurs, or a spaceship flying into a black hole - these have to be done on a computer if they're going to be used at all. To a large extent, this capability has determined the actual content of films and programs, with producers using these tricks to embellish the storyline.

The other reason they're used is either down to cost or safety. If a building is going to explode, having a CG model of the building and having the computer create an explosion effect will still look realistic, but can be filmed from any angle, edited and adjusted over and over to get it just right, and with absolutely no danger to anyone. To do the same thing in reality would cost a fortune, be almost impossible to do repeatedly because of time and cost, and real explosions always have the possibility that someone could be injured.

So what does CGI have to do with computers? Often video games and computer games are developed alongside films and television programs, and this can often result in models and scenes being developed for the program at the same time as for the game. This results in a computer or video game which is genuinely seamless when compared to the program. It is this use of CGI across the media, and this seamlessness which increasingly means that video games are an extension of the film or program - that broadcast media is now becoming inclusive and active, rather than a mere passive opportunity.

With the supposition that you already have done your wholesale video games business research and that you know a little bit about the art in the wildly recognized chess adventure - let's have some fun with short strategies. You know you are the best in what you do, a competitor arrives and he doesn't leave yet?

Like the game of chess, you might be practicing an entire game all alone - but not many get to know it so good. But if you are not playing the art of positioning in a game of chess alone, it's the right way to build genius. Not by nature, but by getting natured overtime (wonder how many gurus will follow here?) So you start your wholesale business covert spy research and infiltration of a competitor(s) marketing operations, by studying his or her behavior.

When you take action on a specific tactic, what does the other company does? What doesn't he do? You establish rapport. Just like the love in a game of chess, but this time instead of using the clock and a pencil to jot down every entrance and starting positioning pawns to gain advantage for the long run when the time comes, you jot down everything either way.

You analyze according to your experience and then write a deadline with a clock to initiate tactics and ultimately win by positioning. Those who don't understand the game of chess I am sorry, play it and you may understand the similarities with life and business. Personally, I just love it as every move is a consequential life effect with an ending result.

Now here is the unusual six- figure-income free wholesale video games business strategic power play. You want to clear the warehouse, you would love to run out of stock from so much business from everyone wanting your uniqueness and most important of all, you want to keep the consistency to learn even more or have fun beating him or her.

What do you do, what is your next move? Your pawn, a knight, precious - your queen? Getting your queen (precious) out so fast early in the game is risky, that's is - according the great philosophers of the game. Make a similar move and get him to think, you are not playing a machine - you are playing a human in charge of his chess moves. It is either you or him, one commandment - just like playing chess.

How about moving your pawn, perhaps a little structured change in the merchandise packaging? Perhaps adding a professional label with your domain name can give you literate instant exposure for the shorter term and in the long run depending the professionalism or extremist tactics in word of mouth viral strategies.

Maybe tradition overall rules are saturated, a big weakness when you get to follow rules, not in business. Correct it - adapt to make the quick change. Sacrifice move, whoa?

Perhaps adding a few ads around Google, MSN and other simple and yet bargain smart tactics can do good for starting positioning, without counting domains being already established. Important detail to understand is that we never should be able to conclude unless we test.

If we don't test in the wholesale video games business or any other business typo - we don't acquire results do to having starting piece of a 500 piece puzzle, resolved. So perhaps you need to sacrifice a pawn, in order to start getting entrance?

Remember, you are not playing a machine! Now yes, an intelligent lesson can be understood with one word without having to insult your intelligence with elementary books. If you don't learn how to adapt to new changes, you better be alone or - change. Change can transform darkness into clarity. Hurrah?

Everyone is raving about the new fitness video game. I do not even have to mention the name of it. It is a current craze and it’s meant to increase physical activity in children. However, what surprised many people is that children are not the only ones interested in this game. Many adults have turned towards this alternative form of exercise. But the question still remains, can this game replace going to the gym?

Some people believe that it can while others are still a little bit skeptical. I personally have played the game and I am a believer. I think that the game offers excellent fitness benefits but you have to be willing to play majority of the games. You have to incorporate some running (cardio) and some strength training. You can’t simply stand on the balance board for an hour and think that you have completed your workout for the day. But if you chose to do it the right way, I do believe that the video game is a great way to get active.

When you begin the game, you are asked to enter your birthday and your sex. The balance board will then inform you whether you are overweight or underweight. Following that you have to complete several balance exercises which determine your exercise age. Most of the time the age the balance board will give you will be much older than your actual age. That is mostly due to the fact that we are not used to completing balance exercises, especially timed ones. Once you have set up all of your information, there are numerous activities to chose from. The game offers yoga, strength training, aerobics, running, and soccer (to name a few). So if you are skeptical of this game, don’t be. It is fun and physically beneficial if done right!

A video game is a game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. This game can also be referred to as a raster display. The raster display is like any other thing it has its own merits and demerits. There are games that entail agility, linear thoughts, and that create other difficult demands on harmonization, eyes, and the brain have been considered positive in the staving off of such advancing illnesses as Alzheimer’s.

A raster display can help with skills such as the following: Memorizing and remembering (intake and recall of information) Inducing and deducing (critical thinking) Recognizing patterns, solving problems, and mapping (organization and reasoning) they also contribute to perseverance skills; socialization skills (simulating, as many games do, headship, rule-following, and hierarchical ordering); motor skills; and assist in assuaging the difficulties and challenges of such disorders as ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and helping elevate esteem and increase motivation and drive.

Video games are therefore more than just fanatic models that keep people from being responsible, worthwhile members of society, have them cutting school, see them missing work (or playing raster displays AT work), or turn them into violent war-mongers. But the stressing on games as culprit was focused on the violent games that reward violence. Not once did any "expert" speak to the Middle Eastern countries where for decades they had no video raster displays, didn't have TV, workstations, didn't even have electricity, yet have massacred each other from time in memorial battles over land ownership.

Many learned people who play raster displays don’t use activity as a justification to harm others because they are so busy contending online or too engaged in the challenge of beating their best levels or maybe their friends high scores.

Video games are the hottest craze for toys and gifts when it comes to kids. They have always been a popular choice, but with the new Playstation 3 available on the market, as well as some other new game systems, video game consoles are the number one gift for kids today. The Playstation 3 is in huge demand, even with a whopping price of $600 American. This Playstation version is the third game console released by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was released in America on November 17, 2006, and is the most expensive video game console that is available on the consumer market today. Playstation 3 is enabled with BluRay and HDMI technology for the best graphics of any game console, past or present.

The Playstation 3 was released along with fifteen game titles for the system in America. In Europe, an additional seven titles were released on top of the American titles. These additional titles include the title Formula One Championship Edition, the bestselling game MotorStorm, and the game Virtua Fighter 5. The most popular game right after the release in America was the game Resistance: The Fall Of Man. Since then however, this game has lost first place to the racing game MotorStorm. Some game titles were delayed in their release until 2007. These titles include Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the game F.E.A.R. First party titles that will be released soon include Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4, 2 Final Fantasy XIII games, and the title Heavy Rain.

No matter what age your child is, unless they are in the infant stage, a Playstation 3 would be a gift that would thrill them. If the price tag is within your budget, why not. With the available BluRay and HDMI capabilities, the Playstation 3 can also be a present for mom and dad as well. The rich graphics and great availability of games make this a gift for the kids that will benefit the whole family

Compared to the X-Box 360 and the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3 is in abundant supply, with most stores staying in stock. This is because Sony manufactured enough units to guarantee a good supply. This ensures that the units are available locally for consumers when they are required. With all the Playstation 3's available, why not give one as a gift for your child and let the fun begin.

Jesse and his friends had been anticipating the release of Super Mario Smash Brothers for six months now. It was a fighting game for their Nintendo 64 video game system that would feature all their favorite characters from video games growing up - Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Link -just to name a few. Jesse and his three close friends - Warren, Danny and Brandon, were video game fanatics and they were extremely competitive and fierce when it came to battling it out with their controllers, no matter what game they were playing.

So when Smash Brothers was finally realeased, they were first in line at the electronics store. They each pitched in $15, and spent the next week in isolation glued to the television.

Each person had their own strengths and weaknesses when it came to video games. Jesse was better at car racing games, while Danny's specialty was sports. Warren and Brandon excelled at fighting games, and Smash Brothers started out no differently. Warren and Brandon continiously defeated Jesse, and even Danny as well. For whatever reason, Jesse just didn't have the moves and knowledge at Smash Brothers that his friends did.

But on Jesse's next trip to the electronics store, he found something that would change all that - an audio book that was released by Nintendo with secrets and strategies for Super Mario Smash Brothers. Jesse's eyes lit up, knowing that this was his chance to surprise his three buddies!

The audio book revealed many different tips and techniques that even Warren and Brandon hadn't discovered yet! Jesse couldn't wait until their video game time later that night. Jesse's three friends couldn't believe their eyes when Jesse started to beat them time after time after time! It was all because of Jesse's secret weapon ... an audio book!

What’s so great about it is that it allows Boston Advertising Agencies to reach a typically difficult to reach demographic: young affluent males ages 18-34. Video games have the 4th highest reach for teens and heavy gamers (following TV, internet and radio), and an article published by cnn.com this week stated that 97% of America’s youth play video games in some form.

What this all means for Boston Advertising Agencies is huge market potential. The video game industry itself is booming, with global sales rising from $6.6 billion last year to %14.4 billion by 2012. There is just so much opportunity here, it’s amazing.

New forms of in game advertising allow Boston Advertising Agencies to tailor their message to geographic location, and to time zone, allowing for the delivery of time sensitive messages (like a movie launch). Information can also be sent back to the agency from the player’s machine to help evaluate how effective the advertisement placement is for the viewer.

Video game advertising has actually been around for quite a while; the first example appeared in 1978, believe it or not. The market is growing at an unprecedented rate, and is presenting a huge amount of opportunity to be taken advantage of by Boston Advertising Agencies. The potential here is amazing, and it will not be long before agencies start popping up that specialize in solely this form of advertising. It is definitely an industry that should be watched and paid very close attention to, and taken advantage of sooner rather than later.

By David Verklin and Bernice Kanner

Authors of Watch This, Listen up, Click Here

Since the last draftee reported for duty in December 1972, Uncle Sam has had to hustle to staff an all-volunteer armed force. In the case of the U.S. Army, that meant recruiting 80,000 new soldiers every year -- essentially replacing more than the entire workforce of BellSouth every 12 months.

Advertising did the trick initially. After "Today's Army Wants to Join You" fizzled, in January 1981, "Be All You Can Be" became the battle cry. For two decades, wrapped around ads that made this branch look as adventurous as an Outward Bound course, it resonated with 17-to-24-year-olds (of whom the Army is the nation's largest employer). Then, in 2001, that was scuttled for an "Army of One." ("Even though there are 1,045,690 soldiers just like me, I am my own force . . .") Critics scoffed that the new tin slogan was misguided (isn't conformity more valued than individuality in the barracks?); the Army countered that it was effective.

Then Iraq exploded.

Despite adding thousands of additional recruiters, upping the enlistment bonus and funding for college, fattening the ad budget, and ratcheting up the patriotic appeal, the Army could not fill its boots.

So the Army added more marketing weaponry. It hosted town hall meetings where civilians could meet soldiers and hear about their accomplishments. It tried product placement: Army mechanics on the Discovery Channel's Monster Garage tricked out a Jeep. And it launched a thoroughly engaging computer video game that quickly became a gold standard of "advergames" for its effectiveness and realism. Gamers take such real military roles as Intelligence (18F), Engineer (18C), Communications (18E), and Combat Medic (18D), and fire the same weapons the Army has. And when they fire on the run, their aim is less accurate.

Before it was released on July 4, 2002, many expected the $7.3 million game would join the ranks of the $436 hammer and $640 toilet seat as a study of excess. Few predicted "America's Army" would become the artillery's most effective marketing tool, conveying the authentic military experience in a voice that prospective recruits want to hear.

More than seven million users have registered (anonymously so as to squelch any fear of recruiter harangues) with 10,000 to 50,000 new ones downloading the shoot-em-up daily. In a dozen running and gunning missions, players advance through the stages of soldierhood -- drilling in basic training, target practicing with an M-16, learning about basic emergency medicine, and, finally, diving into combat. The game has been downloaded more than 16 million times, 20 percent of entering cadets at West Point have played it, and between 20 and 40 percent of new Army recruits have played it as well.

"They seek it out rather than the other way around," noted Chris Chambers, deputy director of the Army Game Project within the Army's Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis. At an average cost of 10 cents per hour versus $5 to $10 per hour for a TV commercial, it delivers immersion rather than mere impression.

"America's Army" has proven to be such powerful weaponry that an official game store does brisk business selling collectible action figures, clothes, coffee mugs, and other doodads emblazoned with the logo. The Army builds parties and tournaments across the country around it. A wireless version and sequels including "America's Army: Special Forces," where players try to earn a Green Beret by completing Special Forces missions, have been released. Apple created a knockoff: Boot Camp. And the Army now even uses it extensively in training.

Uncle Sam Wants You . . . to play . . . and he's not the only one. Everyone is getting in on the virtual action. Some, like the Army, create a whole game that functions as a sales brochure. Just as the Army promoted its pro-military message through gameplay, the United Nations World Food Program aims to educate about its mission to combat hunger worldwide. In "Food Force," players steer a helicopter over the war-torn island of Sheylan, (a fictional cross between Sri Lanka and Somalia) and drop relief supplies to a population with little shelter and less food. Or they create food rations, schedule shipments, or take a supply truck through hostile terrain.

In the racing game, "Volvo Drive for Life" (playable on Microsoft's Xbox), players are rewarded not for finishing first, but for avoiding accidents. Wander in for a test drive at a Volvo dealer and you can try it in the showroom. Dealers can bestow game cartridges on select prospects and customers. After its royal mascot tromped through "Fight Night Round 3" (on Xbox 360), Burger King created action games around its bizarre king and made them available for just $3.99 to customers who bought a value meal. (Most games sell for at least 12 times that). Nike went beyond athletes wearing its shoes in the video game NBA 2K6: Tournament players are given different pairs of virtual footwear and choose which to put on from their Nike shoe locker depending on the task. They can also personalize the shoes with the same customization feature that's on Nike's iD web site.

In other advergames, marketers hitch a ride. In "CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder," Visa's fraud-monitoring capabilities shine when a suspicious charge on a victim's credit card triggers investigation by a forensic-sciences team. In Tom Clancy's "Splinter Cell Chaos Theory," the protagonist, secret agent Sam Fisher, scales a bright neon sign for Axe deodorant and quietly enters a lunchroom inhabited by a Diet Sprite Zero vending machine. (Axe also created Mojo Master, an online game about picking up women.) In "Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow," Fisher retrieves a message from a Sony Ericsson smart phone to learn who the villain is. In "Burnout Revenge," players drive and crash a Carl's Jr. delivery-truck. And players in Activision's 'True Crime" titles take a break from fighting gangs to recover stolen Puma sneakers.

Some marketers install games on corporate web sites or designated URLs, like "Life Saver Candy Stand," or FiletoFish.com, the web site where a division of McDonald's posted "Shark Bait" (in English and Spanish). Players must protect the filet-of-fish sandwich from attacking sharks. For Wachovia, Carat's Fusion recreated the tricky 17th-hole par 3 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Players evaluate distance and wind conditions on this 217-yard hole to pick a club: Crowd noise lets them know if they've made a good virtual swing. Wachovia has sponsored the annual PGA championship since 2002: The game was fashioned to promote that, sell tickets, and create viral buzz. H&R Block's "Deduct-A-Buck" game at the deductabuck.com web site is tax-time seasonal. Players who correctly answer questions about what they can legally write off in this Seventies-TV-quiz-show-style game win prizes.

Hollywood and Nashville hardly launch a movie or song anymore without serving up a side of game. And despite hefty royalty rates for movie titles, an action hit will almost certainly be reincarnated on a console. Turner's "Witchblade" promoted the TV series, and games built around Men in Black II, Spider-Man, and Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course were meant to promote the new releases. Along with ads for Sprite, the sci-fi game "Planetside" featured ads for the movie Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, and in the free version of "Anarchy Online" a 15-second trailer for V For Vendetta played in a continual loop. Ads for Batman Begins in "Splinter Cell" were timed to its release in local markets.

The Da Vinci Code got its own PS2 game. Paramount Pictures crafted a Mission: Impossible III game for cell phones while Miami Vice had an accompanying game to play on Sony's handheld PSP.

This is about more than fun and games. Yankee Group estimates that by 2007 a serious gamer will lurk in every fourth home in America. Nielsen says three out of four residences with guys under age 34 have a game system. More people slay orcs in the medieval-style quest for virtual gold and power, "World of Warcraft," than live in Denmark. In 2006, gamers across the globe owned more than 100 million PlayStation2s and 40 million Xboxes. In the United States, video games already raked in more money than the movie box offices, and Yankee Group says the industry will top $8.3 billion by 2008. PricewaterhouseCoopers says globally it will reach $55 billion by 2009. That explains why a cottage industry in Los Angeles builds game consoles into the backs of Lincoln Navigators.

Collectively, interactive ads embedded in quizzes and games made up more than $1 billion of the $12.5 billion in online ad revenue in 2005, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Nielsen (which now measures the industry) expects advertising spending within games will jump from $75 million in 2006 to $1 billon by 2010. Mitch Davis, CEO of Massive, thinks it could be almost twice that -- and account for about 3 percent of all media spending, just shy of what advertisers spend on the Internet.

The video game industry is soon to undergo a serious change. A change that many feel is for for the better.

Currently video game manufacturers and publishers usually sign what is called an exclusive agreement. What this means is the video game hardward manufacturer, such as XBox, PS3, WII, etc. has the sole rights for that publisher`s particular game.

However this trend of exclusive deals may be coming to an end. In the November issue if Electronic Gaming Monthly, Evan Van Zelfden says, "that the agreements between game publishers and hardware makers called as third-party exclusives may be ceased in the future." Van Zelfden explains further, "that more publishers and developers were willing to create computer games that can be used for different gaming platforms such as Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation, and Xbox 360 than giving an exclusive license to only one platform."

Not having an exclusive license allows publishers to develop a video game for multiple platforms. Van Zelfden agrees, "their games would have a wider market if it will be available in multiplatform versions."

It may be a while before the entire industry jumps on this "bandwagon" however there are a couple of games on the way. The games that would soon launch in multiplatform versions include "Devil May Cry 4" and "Grand Theft Auto IV".

Keep an eye out on this trend and the games that will be hitting the market soon. Soon you will no longer have to buy just the XBox to get a certain game and so on.
