Unless you've hidden under a rock somewhere, chances are you've heard the buzz around the latest creation of Nintendo Wii Fit. If you do not, here is a brief summary. Wii Fit is the product new life style for the Wii console which combines the pleasure of gaming with the benefits of exercise. The Wii has been a revolution in itself in how it allowed users to interact with games using motion control wireless were very sensitive Fun and easy to use, involving both players and non-players. Wii Fit takes this concept even further with the introduction of the Wii Balance board which comes with the game

The Wii Balance Board

The Wii Balance Board is much like a bathroom scale huge, but it actually contains four pressure sensors that allow it to accurately determine the weight of a user and their position on the chessboard. This information is transmitted wirelessly to the Wii console, games to interpret a whole new array of moves and offer an experience entirely new game. Wii Fit is the first game to take advantage of the Wii Balance Board and features over forty different exercises and games including yoga, strength training, aerobics and balance games.

Wii Fit is an instant success

Wii Fit was launched in Japan in the early December 2007 and was an instant hit, selling nearly 1.8 million copies in the first four months. He was later released in England April 25, 2008 and almost immediately the game head UK charts. Within days, retailers have sold all of their initial stock allocations and it was estimated that over 200 000 copies of Wii Fit were sold within the first week. In fact, a large street chain claimed discharge of 90 copies per minute on launch day. Wii Fit is scheduled for launch in Australia on May 8th, 2008 and U.S. 19.

What's Next after Wii Fit?

No one can deny the success of Wii Fit before its U.S. launch, which will no doubt be massive, but I predict that eventually it The Wii Balance Board which will be the big hit in 2008. Wii Fit has taken Wii from being just another game console to be a product of lifestyle real which seems out of place in a house average and this will result in an increase in potentially huge market for games. As the buzz and excitement of Wii Fit subsides, many Wii Fit owners will begin to wonder what they can do with their Wii Balance Boards, and this is that things will really start to get interesting.

Upcoming Wii Balance Board Games

Currently (May 1 2008), Wii Fit is the only game available for Wii Balance Board, but will certainly change in coming months. Namco Bandai has already confirmed the release of We Ski in the United States on May 13 and 2k Sports have Don King Prizefighter, scheduled for June and the list will grow. In fact, Nintendo U.S. COO, Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed more than 10 games already in development.

No other games have been confirmed, but there are already rumors spreading Snowboard Nintendo, EA Skate, Rayman Raving Rabbids and even future Mario titles. As I said, nothing has been confirmed, but whatever the case, Wii Balance Board games will certainly be a great success in 2008.
