Madballs in Babo Invasion for Xbox Live Arcade has the legs and balls. MIBI is a top-down and third-person shooter based on Candy "brain" of the engine developed by Playbrains in Ottawa, Canada. This game shows great depth, not only as an XBLA title, but with its full feature set, as a competitor of retail games.
The characters in the explosion of the environment through the levels of pinball-like physics, and to roll, turn and bounce their way through frantic arcade action. The weapons that contain a large amount, both in damage and recoil and its very entertaining to watch as little Babo "Eidolon" catapulted backwards when firing the Railgun-like "Beamer".
Each of the 10 unique characters with two powerful special abilities, and a member of one of the 5 classes, each with a different movement speed, durability, strength and vulnerability. Players can take advantage of enemy weaknesses by choosing the right weapon for the job mode.
Each weapon has two modes of fire, dealing with different types of damage, such as heat, cold, energy and impact. Naturally, certain combining characters and weapons Well, and the best combinations of Loadout adds a ton of longevity and depth to a game that is still has a selection and play the feel of a classic arcade game experience.
We asked John Harley, a game designer in Playbrains, which has the game, the team is most proud of:
# 1: 4 player coop, which allows gamers to play through any level of factional 10 campaign, with the difficulty that automatically scales in response to the number of players.
# 2: How to "Avatar", which allows play a shooting game in the competition with their own Xbox Live Avatar's head!
# 3: gameplay of the invasion, which begins with each team building half a map and then the deployment of its base, followed by a phase of combat, considering that the teams fight for territory control and destruction of your opponent's base.
Challenge Mode, available in single-player and 4 player co-op, go to the player to choose the BDI team Scorched noble or evil splinter and fight through 10 levels, pursuing Merc shadow a faction and fight to collect a powerful relic. There is also a standard mode of attack that focuses on arcade-style scoring system and made me touch again and again to boost my score.
Avatar mode was a riot, as I saw my Xbox Live Avatar of putting across the "Deacappuccino Machine" and enter into a free-for-all player-versus-player game. Avatar as my head was riddled with bullets and burned, I was surprised that there is much more in the head confetti! Playbrains has wisely chosen not to show blood, guts or Gore when playing in avatar mode, earning them a game rating by the ESRB E10 +.
He also played a few games of the same name "Invasion Mode". The teams are presented with an exclusive mini-game that sees players take turns construction of a map. Each player places randomly selected pictures on a bulletin board map, as in the board game Carcassonne XBLA. Once the map is complete, Voting is a fast computer to place a base and some control points and the map is dynamically before your eyes.
Teams battle through this new map, the theft of checkpoints and trying to destroy your opponent base. Each time you play this way, the map will be completely new, because there are more than 150 pictures, but only a few dozen are increasingly used. This totally amazed us at the level of depth and innovation, and is something we've never seen before in any game.
In general, its easy to forget that I preview a 1200 point game for XBLA and not a retail release. In this short preview, we have not seen whole game and all its features. Madballs in Babo: Invasion will create a high watermark for digital download new titles and is looking like a game of year and the contestants!
